    Default Ducks in ENP?

    Hi Guys,

I have a place near Everglades City and will be down there from Febuary to April.
Is there any place close where I can shoot pintail, mallards, teal or any other types of ducks?

    Thanks,

    Michael

Michael, as far as locations along Tamiami Trail I can't think of any where you'll find lots of ducks. Several species including pintail and teal winter down here, but I've never seen them in high numbers in Everglades or Big Cypress. You might check out freshwater Burns Lake (turnoff from Tamiami) just in case it holds some ducks...but it's also a very active camping area. As far as the coastal bays of the park you are very likely to find Common Loon and mergansers if you venture out in a canoe or kayak.

The only spots where I have reliably photographed ducks in Florida so far (beyond Mottled) have been Cutler Wetlands in south Miami-Dade, Viera Wetlands up near Melbourne, and Wakodahatchee/Green Cay in Palm Beach county.

I'll add details if I can find out more information.

I know is far, but for me a good place for ducks in the past, Merritt Island.
