    Thinkng the background too busy (see original in my comment below), replaced it with sky from another image. Would better blurring of background be better? Other solutions? Also cloned eye rather inexpertly. Any additional critique will be appreciated.

    Hello Muriel,

    Without reading the text and seeing the image first I felt it had something artificial. It is very well done though. Looking at the original image now I must say the final result is much more interesting so I say "good work". If you really want to spend more time postprocessing I would advise you to have the reflections in the eyes match.

    Muriel, the reworked image really is an improvement. Perhaps a little work on the eyes to even them up and just a tad softer edge might help it to blend in a bit more without looking like a cutout. This image is absolutely worth the trouble!
