Thanks to BPN I've improved my PP skills enough to bring out old raw files that I had ignored and go to work on them. Here's an osprey from two years ago. I darkened the sky on a separate layer. I may have skipped a spot or two, but I rushed it. 1D Mark II with borrowed 100-400 lens. My arm got tired of hand- holding the 500 and I was on Jim Neiger's boat.

Susan: Glad you are reworking shots. Isn't it fun? I like the pose of the bird (nice head turn) and the feel if you could remove the tree from the shot, it would enhance it alot!

Beautiful shot, I love the subtle colors. The tree branches at the left may be a little distracting, something that may be removed with PS.

I debated about removing the tree, but decided to leave it in. I could clone in some more tree or take it out altogether.

This was an instant quick mask, move the tree, reverse it and voila!

Awesome pose Susan and excellent exposure and detail. I like your repost with the addition of a little more BG. It gives it a lovely balance. fine capture and wonderful timing. Thanks for sharing.
