Taken on a fairly dark day from the Skagit River Flats, one of our favorite birding sites. It was nice of the bald eagle to fly into the top of the frame.
Canon 400D 400mm 5.6L f5.6 1/2000s ISO 1600 exp comp +1 hand held. Full frame (for a change :). Taken on 11/30/2007 no edits other than sharpening because of loses when converted from RAW to jpg and reduced.
I like the composition here and the eagle coming in. I think the lighting hurt you here. It just seems a bit flat and under saturated. Maybe a bw conversion would help.
Thanks very much for your suggestion, Paul. I will give that a try. The lighting here is very flat - and often dim, so the image is probably too close to the truth :)
