    Default Peregrine Juv

Had a great day with Jody and Jim at the falls yesterday and the performances were very exciting to watch. Had to tone the sky down.

This is my favorite from the bunch ... so far :)

Shot with Canon MIII, 400 5.6, bushhawk, manual exp. spot meter, f7.1, 1/2000, ISO 400, no flash.

Thanks for looking, didn't have to get up at 4:00am for this one :)

Great banking pose, fanned tail and eye contact. I might try to lighten the underside of the head and neck.

Pretty darned good. You guys are killing them (and me). Are you paying them??? I think that the head could use a bit more sharpening and you might want to check it out with various degrees of de-SAT-ing the blues.

    Was this a VERT ORIG?

Lovely angle & eye contact. Spread out wings with full of details - wow.
I see a slight blueish cast.

I noticed on other shots that the blue from the sky is evident in the wings. Since this is a natural occurrence in nature, should we always discard it?

    Any comments?

    Bill

Artie - this was shot with little time for composition, hence it was shot landscape.

Hi Bill, My take, in most instances, is to try to take the blue cast out of the subjects so that they appear rather neutral. At times, I may opt to leave it in or to acccentuate it.

Thanks for the orientation info. Most VERT flight images were originally HORZs. On rare occasion, if the birds are banking hard, we can get to VERT for the ORIG capture.
