    Default American Flamingo, Juvenile

It was a magical evening on the isle of Rabida in the Galapagos last September. In addition to a pair of oystercatchers parading on a red-sand beach we had numerous American flamingos of varying age. Some juveniles were stoic while others begged for food. This one emerged from the pond for a preen and provided me with a fantastic opportunity. As luck would have it sun angle was dead on with a red-sand background.

David, the tones, color and clarity are all exceptional here.

The tucked beak is a nice touch and conveys a content posture.

Zooming out, I do like the choice of crop. Great IQ; a super portrait!!
