Hi Jon .. a really sweet image with adult and chick , I don like the BG with the leaves and water .
The adult does look good with nice tonal range and lovely realistic colors . Love that eye .
A deal breaker is the limited DOF , as the chick is too soft for my taste .... bottom is too tight for my taste , as you have chopped off the toe(s) .

Thanks Andreas I appreciated there were limitations, this was the best angle, I did get some images exchanging food also. The cropped foot - that was careless, it is in the original image.

    Nice shot, Jon,

The adult looks very nice - super fine detail and colour. I'm not sure if the Head Angle Police are still active on the site, but they may have preferred a slight turn to the right. Personally, I'm not much bothered!

Good to get both birds pretty much on the same focal plane.

Agree with Andreas about the chopped toe and the clutter, but that is sometimes the way with nest photography.

    Best wishes, Gerald

I do not mind the adult's head angle as it is looking at the chick. Cropping some toes is a punishable offence. You picked the best perspective.
