Male Bullfinch eating leaf shoots, image captured at local woodlands - hand held. I left the extraneous twigs in, the image is a crop to eliminate a few other twigs, I also removed one top left. I think I just about got away with the SS, I normally go for 1/1600 sec default.

HI Jon ... i do love Bull Finches , so I do like the frame
Neat pose and nicely isolated from BG , I am ok with the food and the dirty beak
Nice details and tones .
Not too fuzzed about your overall yellow choice of color grade .... does not fit to an overcast day , I think . But color is matter of taste so leave it to you .
Where does the glow come from , visible on the perch ( LHS ) and the subjects upper side ??!!
My RP shows a different color grade ... for more neutral look
No problem Jon ... I did the correction with curves in PS and reduced the cyan/blues in the subject with hue/sat layer .
I ask again where is the fancy looking glowing coming from ??
