    Hi folks ... a rather dull and rainy day as you can see .
    This male got up for a better overview to the Salmons , water was very shallow close to a river mouth at Kuril Lake ...


    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 200 - 400 IS L at 560 mm
    Tripod

    F 6,3 ; Iso 3200 ; 1/2000 sec

    Processed with DT 4.6.1 and PSCC 2024 ; leveled and recropped a tiny bit ; removed two annoying gulls . But left the one in ... to fill the frame Matter of taste

    A most evocative image, it really makes me think I can imagine being there.. the retention of the gull was a good idea, boy you must have an enormous image collection! Composition colours processing looks very good indeed, the water makes this an outstanding image in my book.

    Thanks Jon ... nice that at least you are leaving comments here and in avian , we should take over the forum to Europe .
    Well well ... my collection of that trip is still endless . And I keep going as long as nobody else is posting .... with the Bears .... before this part of BPN is completely dying .
