European Kingfisher
Hi folks ... just for a change a KF from earlier in this moth .
Image captured at a commercialset up , had the KF on may own for the whole day and she performed well

EF 200 - 400 IS L at 300 mm
Tripod
F 7,1 ; Iso 8000 ; 1/2500 sec
Processed with DT 4.6 and PSCC 2024 , cropped for comp and canvas added to bottom and res for better comp , IMHO

Been watching your determination with this set up .This one very clean .DOF gave you a good result at 7.1 Is this sunlit .or artificial light .How are they set up for bad Weather.

Very nice indeed, colours look good focus spot on. I get the impression the brightest highlight are just clipped. I am sure the background has been thoughtfully treated but the top 1/4 looks a little "smudgy" to me.

@ Ian .... this is natural light , the location is quite difficult to work with as a lot of the time it is in shade or the sun is coming from not ideal angle . Some slight shortcomings at that place
@ Jon ... the BG is what it is , OOF smudgy stuff and does personally not bother me , But it could be all smoothed out if one wish to do so . Why do you think the HL are clipped ?? Just check the areas and the histogram ....

Just check the areas and the histogram ...I did, the highlights area showing as clipped. Only tiny bits, when this happens I tend to lower a bit to avoid the appearance.
