HI Jon ... super capture and the pose is gorgeous for me .
The twig is interesting , but i am undecided if it does look good ... because it does look quite thin for bird to be starting from ?? I might be wrong ... you know where he started from . Please clarify .
Love the BG , the sky addition is quite nice compared to the pure green in the last image .
I am surprised with the coloration of the bird .... the whites/pink parts are carrying a really heavy yellow/orange tint !! But maybe the coloration is varying that strong , I am not the expert on that front .

Cool image and well done in capturing it

Thanks Andreas, there was no fiddling, the bird took off from exactly where you see - no modification other than left hand side where I cropped and removed of a very small twig,

I agree the colours don't look quite standard but I think that was due to ambient light, (I think I did check colour balance).

A Belter. No nits here. Exposure looks spot on and 1/6400 nailed it. Flight pose, colours throughout and the perch are all very nice. If anything, I would crop a wee bit from the bottom, it looks a wee bit boxy, IMO. Great work Jon.
