Another from the set up in the snow. Just trying something a little different, with the snow covered perches. And a different POV. Gimbal Head. ACR and PS.

Good to see a little different! It works for me, the eyes and importantly the leading foot are good and sharp, I think a good idea to keep the subject central.

    Hi Will,

You must have enjoyed being out in the snow!

I always struggle with black birds - getting the exposure right. But you seem to have done pretty well with this one.

I like the raised foot and the sharp eyes, but the out of focus bill and the overall shape/pose of the bird detract from the image for me.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Gerald

Hi Will .... very nice idea to get this shot and you did well with the focus and the naturally limited DOF .
Very difficult to get something in the plumage ... maybe a touch " too neutral "on the color front .

Not too fuzzed about the comp .... the image " needs " to go vertical for more impact IMHO .

Nice and dreamy. Th raised foot adds a lot. Good job managing the blacks and the whites. Although super minor, there is a small spot (sensor dust spot?) to the right of the foot that is peskily grabbing my attention.

Thanks for the comments Andreas and Dan. I see it now Dan. It's part of the blowing snow. No need for a sensor clean yet.
