Hand held image captured at a local reserve. The light was quite harsh but I wanted to capture the various tones generated in severe light. I suspect some will find the water a little "inky" blue (?)

Hi Jon ... you did well, want you wanted to achieve !!!
I do like the action and the details you have managed to capture/render on both ends of the spectrum . The subject does look great and very realistic on the color front .... water is indeed a bit inky , but does fitb well for me .
    Very nice overall work

    Jon:

I like the sense of action from the flying water and pose, the angle in frame and eye contact. I might have cropped a bit off the top, but just personal taste. The water looks normal for this lighting.

    Cheers

I really like this, as to me anyway it is unusual in that as said above you have covered the spectrum .Did you think of cutting out the front eye light which I guess comes from the wet bill reflection.Either way very nice.
