Default Elefant calf .... in action

    Attached Images Attached Images

Hi folks ... one from couple of years ago , need to go back to Africa as soon as possible

Image taken in the seldom visited part of Etosha NP .... far in the western area , quite nice as it is less crowded with tourists .
This youngster was excited running around at a waterhole .... trying to keep up with his mother .
Wish I had shot this wider with hindsight , but things happened quickly no time to change kit .

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
    Beanbag

    F 8 ; Iso 6400 ; 1/ 2000 sec

Processed with C1 and PSCC 2024

Thanks for looking and commenting to previous postings , any comment would be greatly appreciated .... good or bad

    Cheers Andreas

Etosha is such a stunning place! Super cute little chap and great action, love the sense of movement here.

Well processed with good detail, framing works well for me, nice colours too.

Yes and no to to a wider shot I quite like this as is...Very special image and great timing...Would not change a thing.

Thank you so much for sharing, I truly enjoyed viewing. Love baby eles

    Kind regards,

I like it too, I am guessing thay had previously had a bath because they both look exceptionally clean - and possibly damp. I think the close fit crop with the adult framing the calf was a good idea. Processing looks very good to me.

I agree with Gabriela I wouldn't change a thing. Mums foot /hoof is guarding the front of him and he [assumption.]has a to keep out of the way of tons of back foot coming. The centre piece is the calf and that's perfect.

Thanks Gabriela , Jon and Ian .... glad you like it .

Elephant calves are many times a great subject to watch and photograph .... ... the younger the more funny they are .

Cracking shot Andreas, love the framing and action here. The tail and leading front leg of Mum makes this a winner for me.
