    Default Gray Headed Swamphen

    I captured this image at a stop along Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive in Apopka, Florida. A first for me I have never seen this bird before. From reading it seems to have been around since the 1990's, an invasive species like the Hydrilla it is feeding on. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 500mm PF, Handheld, image captured through an open window in the vehicle
    1/1000 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1 ISO 560 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 500mm (750mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic and Photoshop 2024, cleaned up the background on the top from smudges of vegetation
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Nicely exposed, perhaps more easily said than done but I think a portrait crop at capture would have provided a really good composition.
