    Default Synchronized splash down

Taken a couple of days ago in lower Michigan. These free ranging birds were nice enough to land in a heavily shaded area with just the right amount of backlighting to make them pop.

    Z9. 800 PF. 1.2500s, f/6.3,ISO 280. Handheld. Full frame.

Post: Lifted the shadows on the swans a bit. The far background had a low wall that I darkened a bit.

I find the control ring on the 800 PF a handy way to help do fast exposure compensation. One minute against the sky, with +2, seconds later backlight with -1.5.

    Cheers

Beautiful and elegant - love it! I feel the Canada geese in the foreground add to the drama. Good job on processing too!

I admit that I am torn on the Canada Geese, and leaning towards wishing they were not there, but I love the backlit white swans against the dark surroundings. Geese are not small, and look at the size difference with those swans!

Very dramatic image! The light coming through the wings is beautiful. I don't mind the geese but understand the image would be cleaner without them. More bothersome to me is the line of light dots
running through the right bird's head. I would think about cloning those, particularly the ones ahead of the right bird. It looks like he's sending out x-ray vision or something.

Thanks guys: Appreciate your input. I have mixed feelings about the geese too, but do think it adds a bit more variety? to the image. The X ray dots in the background were from a low wall. Easy fix.

I like it a lot....It's all about the light here and you captured it well......It looks great as is, but I think I would remove the Geese, giving the Swans a clear path....Well done Randy.
