Super shot excellent detail, you have differentially made the subject stand out. I appreciate brown must everywhere but I feel I should be seein a little more black somewhere, the hairs on his shoulder & under his chin for example - maybe a bit richer??

Hi Andreas, Stunning light, and you did well to get so much detail, definition and subject separation on a notoriously difficult subject. Sharpness is outstanding. I would consider removing the OOF oxpecker (?) on the animal behind.

Nice to see the old Dagga Bioy in a pan. Think I agree with Jon about the black hairs and Chris on the Ox P, did you want to keep the blue on the horn?
The light really makes that eye pop and I'm not sure it need pulling back only because it's so bright. Love the light reflected on the under belly and side, adds to the atmosphere/time of day. Curious, why does the water on the LHS have a green tinge (I know it's algae), but then swops to an orange warmth?
Overall a nice capture Andreas, it's different.

Hello Boetie Andreas,
Great to see a Buffalo in such beautiful light and detail is really, really nice. Love those textures. Subject well isolated from the background and framing works well. And sharp as it gets.
I too think the water looks a bit odd, with the green algae that ends just before the front right limb of the subject - it might be natural, but for the sake of this frame perhaps worth looking into this.
Colour wise I am happy with the buffalo, from what I have seen around here some are darker and others less so, your call about the blacks
Thank you so much for sharing, I took great pleasure viewing. Have a wonderful rest of the week-end!
Kind regards,
