I took this one at the Guanica State Forest, PR, few weeks ago.
Quite unique habitat, tropical dry forest, packed with
    endemic species.

    Nikon D850, 200-500mm at 500mm, ISO400, f5.6, 1/60, flash.
I removed a branch below the bird and at the left edge.

    Cheers,
    Ilija

Lovely bird and BKGR. Nice job with the flash. Wha't the green thingie in its bill? The bird looks a bit lost in the frame with all that room above. Thus, my repost.

Thanks Artie. Not sure what the green foodstuff is, I think some kind of a caterpillar.

Ilija, thanks for sharing this gorgeous species. A first for me!

You got an amazing colored bird on a nicely complimenting backdrop for sure. Would have been great on something other than a bare branch, but you gotta take it.

Perhaps shifting the bird up in the frame just a little could make a big difference. How big was the crop?

What a nice capture of this pretty little bird, Ilija ! Beautiful colours and BG looks great, indeed great work in the field !

I do agree with you, the green 'juice' is probably a caterpillar. And quite like Artie's take on the crop, places more emphasis on the subject.

Really enjoyed your post and would love to see more,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
