I captured this Eider at the old harbour in my hometown ...I liked the 'different' BG, as normally it is the sea, where they are photographed....HH..ACR, Topaz DN and PS..

Knockout! Love the bird and position/pose the background of knapweed(??) is super. Many people say it but it's true, those trailing droplets do add to the image.
Love the bird (exposure, detail, pose, eye contact) but the BG isn't doing it for me. I think the foliage and color is really cool/different, but it's kinda crunchy and almost too painterly (if that makes sense).
Perfect pose, good exposure, and I am OK with the BG. I do feel the image needs more "punch" though - especially via contrast, or other method of deepening the blacks and some of the darker midtones. Good sharpness and comp.
Hi Will. really nice flight image of a Eider. The foliage background is different, just a tad close to the bird for a smooth background. You can reduce the crunchy look of the background a bit by masking the background and reducing the clarity and blacks. Sometimes it works well, it depends on what the image allows. Thank you for sharing.

Really a cool frame Will. Love how the surroundings frame the awesome wings-down pose.
The droplets only enhance viewing, not much else to critique from my view. Well shown my friend!
Thanks for that guys.....I was happy getting locked on with the 2x against that BG....10 frames but this was the only one with a decent flight pose....
