While at Fort DeSoto, there was a small pool of water that had formed overnight.
There was a ring of pink in the sand surrounding the little pool. I assume it was algae of some type.
That layer of pink created a dreamy BG for the birds.

That is the sweetest light and BG! Love the foot and worm action too. With the ripples being the most obvious line maybe it could do with a little CCW rotation?

A lot to like here, Gail. Soft light is great, and the gently graded BG is really beautiful/dreamy. The raised foot and prey are the perfect bit of action. I wouldn't change anything.

It's pretty neat to clearly see the prey item. Raised foot adds a lot. I love the soft colours throughout. The faint vertical lines of the reflection add to the dreamy effect.

It is a lovely image Gail, other than a slight CCW rotation as Colin suggested, it has all the checks for me. gorgeous BG, POV, interest/behavior, etc, ... Thank the algae, hope it is good for the critters as well!

Yup, just about perfect. Lovely image, Gail. Wonderful low POV, pure background, nice post processing. Thank you for sharing.

Nice shot, I like the worm and the way the water line is just about apparent. I don't suppose you have one with the foot just out of the water??

Nice to see the prey. Nice and low as well. I like the framing.

Sweet light, bird, and image. I like how the pink of the prey item picks up the suffused pink line in the background. It bugs me a bit that the pink line goes right through the bird's head.
