Hi all,
I took this shot of the juvenile Mountain Plover in Fall 2020 when a couple of these passed through the area. They are usually around all winter, but their preferred habitat is usually sod farms and agricultural fields that are under preparation. Those areas do not provide photo opportunities because they are private lands. So I was excited to have this opportunity when they were reported at the nearby wildlife area. Even then I had to walk about 3 miles on the muddy lakeshore to find them. I was so excited to finally find them right before sunset that I forgot to adjust my shutter speed (hence relatively low shutter speed).
Processing this was somewhat challenging as I am never quite happy with the sharpness when I use the extender. After cropping and straightening the file, I used context aware fill in PS CC to fill in a small triangle in LRC. NR and Sharpening with Topaz. Added a little extra sharpening on the head.
