Hi Jon, nice alert pose and the overall colour looks good, greens???, albeit on the laptop.
For me it's just too tight, especially at the foot and LHS, the subject just needs more room to breathe. The FG grass doesn't look right and I can't put my finger on it & fine detail, again has that jagged/grainy appearance again, be interested to hear what Andreas thinks. Can you pop the raw over, be interested just to see???

Dear Jon,
Very nice pose from the subject and the direct stare makes the image for me. I too feel there is not enough space at the bottom and LHS but I assume you had some reason to crop in this manner ?
Suppose the lighting conditions were not great but if this was mine I would add a bit of vibrance. Vegetation/greens a bit dull and the deer's coat could do with a little more oomph.
Subject is sharp where it needs to be, yet to me it appears a bit contrasty in places - perhaps it is the wet/muddied coat?
Thank you so much for sharing, I enjoyed viewing. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend
Warmest regards,

Wish this was shot with the old 1Dx ... check the fur structure in the previous old image of the 1Dx .This one has jagged edges in the fur structure ( for whatever reason ) ... just my take .

Hi Jon ... a quite nice image , with the stag looking at the viewer .
Would agree with Steve in general with his critique .

Love the pose. I could see the deer more in the middle of the frame. I do like the detail and the grasses.
