Out in a fairly new location recently and there was plenty of Tern action. I was happy with the pose on this one, and thought it would make a nice high key b&w photo. So...here it is.

P.S. Decided at long last to get a website up. Would love feedback if you have the time to look. Thank you.
Hi Paul, this is a really artistic frame. Really beautiful from that front.
It has a very delicate feel and the tones coming through on the left wing are quite neat. The contorted pose is also cool.
I agree with Jon in feeling like it could benefit from a little added tonal contrast as the darker tones appear a bit washed. Try to maybe get some of that back while keeping the light feel.
While on the Avian BPN forum, it will not be well received because we can't see the eyes (that is my personal pref even in an image like this), sometimes images like this do well in competitions.
I am on BPN and I quite like it. The curves and the tones combine well for an artistic presentation. That said, a peek at the bird's left eye would have made it even stronger.
with love, artie

Thank you so much Jonathan, Brian and Artie. Yes to more of the eye showing, but I'm very happy with this overall. I will take another look at the tonal contrast though. Cheers.
Hi Paul, I really like the artistic feel to this. I of course think the eye would send it to another level, but it is excellent as is. Well seen and beautifully photographed. Great decision for a B&W in IMO
Cool artsy stuff .... Paul !!!
Personally I might try to go more artsy with the tones .
A " lot" brighter overall and only pushing the darker tones a tiny bit more .
