This was a new venue for me, a large open area parkland close to the Peak District, the deer were rather skittish hence the need for the 600mm equivalent lens. It was a dull day and it had been raining previously, image capture midday. I was there for a few hours and was unable to get a single image that I was pleased with from a compositional point of view. The trip was really a reconnaissance in preparation for the rut. The stag on the right has bits of grass in his antlers, his velvet has completely disappeared so this just may be a very early sign of rising testerone levels!
