Checking out a location I haven't been to for a while. and managed to capture this image. Would have liked a better background, but I'm ok as is. Cheers.

D500/500PF, 1/800th sec@f5.6, iso640, manual mode HH. Very minor adjustments in ACR and Photoshop.

I like the high key here. Looks like a plate from the guide. Awesome colors and details. Only minor nit, wish for better perch. TFS

This one is superb. It could stand a crop from above and right and would be improved if you removed the stick from its butt :)

    Really well done.

Paul, never seen this species and oh, what a feather pattern that is! Almost looks computer generated... hypnotizing in effect.

I'm sure you'd wish for this with some sweet sunshine but the high key effect was handled nicely. Wonderfully sharp and nice HA.

Probably worth going ahead to evict the subtle blotches coming in at the left and on bottom right. I'd love to see a version with the subject just a bit higher in frame.

What did you use for noise reduction? How much?

Hi Paul, being on a white BKG does make for a different image and agree with Artie, the stick at the rear has to go and that's very easy fix. However, whether it's the DoF, or you have applied NR (at ISO640 definitely no need) the plumage just looks very flat??? A little less above I feel may improve the presentation.

Thanks so much everyone for the feedback.
The op had some selective noise reduction and sharpening applied, but can't recall the settings.
I've re-processed the raw file again...applying the crop suggestions, removing the blotches (caused by oof twigs which I removed using better technique this time), removed the "butt" stick. Also, no noise reduction used, but selective sharpening only. A little contrast and saturation boost to finish. I'm now keeping a history log of the processing (from Photoshop preferences)
    Hope this is better?

What a neat looking dove. Love high key frames like these.
