This hairy woodpecker was eating from a hanging suet feeder on a windy day at a local marsh. I set up my tripod about 20 ft. from the feeder. Every now and then, a gust of wind would swing the feeder so hard that he would fly to nearby tree trunk. This gave me the oportunity to capture this image. A couple disturbing branches were cloned out in photoshop.

Great exposure control and details, Joel. I agree with Al's cropping suggestion.

A very nice image. I'm not crazy about the lighter area in the BG. In terms of composition I'd take a bit off of the left - just to the bottom of the trunk and also some off of the right.

How is this? In addition to cropping some off the edges, I also cropped a little tighter all round.
