Hi Jon, good field craft here, did you use a clamp to hold things steady? Personally I would like to see a bit more tone for a little more depth to the head and body, but personal tastes. Something dos look a little odd of the RH stem, longer one, but also that slight brown ghosting I would dress, I feel it jut draws the eye and the BKG would be better for it.

Hi Steve, no clamps , the ghosting you see is because the damsel was in a knapweed plant so it was shot through tiny gaps, I am turning more and more to trying to portray my subjects with a feel of the environment. I see what you say about more depth in the head and body but this is the female - they do not have a much colour/depth.
The vertical framing is nice. The plant is a little overwhelming.
