That's some pretty sweet light, Kurt! Beautiful colors and details, and the layers feathers on the back are great. Curious about the square-ish crop though. Would like more to the left if you have it.

I don't mind the boxy crop here, but more on the left would be welcone, You were perfectly square to the bird -- I like how you handled the shadow by including the complete shadow in the frame. Thee BKGR is sweet. And the image is sharp.

Very nice light..the crop works for theses birds I think as they are boxy type birds when perched...

Hi Kurt .. super sweet warm light , love it .
Subject is nicely isolated from BG and the perch is not too dominant .
Nice work overall .... with good overall color . Sharpness looks good as well .

Did you run Denoise on the bird as well ??? .... If so , I personally would back off a bit

I love the feather texture on the heron, and such a clean bird! Perfect light, good perch, excellent BG. From the techs, were you hoping for flight or other action?

Kurt, just lovely. You consistently hit super sweet bkg's down there man, but I know it's no accident. And this one benefitted greatly from the rich but subtle mottling of tan, orange and green.

Gorgeous light and great angle to pose for you. Love the perch. Might consider cloning the dark spot, but just a minor nit. Could also possible benefit from some selective sharpening around the eye and base of the beak perhaps. See what you think.

I like the crop overall man and the frame. Great job!
