    I captured this image on a recent trip to Ft. Desoto County Park in Pinellas County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 500mm F/5.6 VR AF-S ED PF, camera and lens supported by a Oben carbon fiber monopod with a Wimberly MonoGimbal head
    1/1600 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1 ISO 1600 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 500mm (750mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2021 and Neat Image for noise reduction

    You don't mention the crop but the IQ does not seem very good for iso 1600.. Was this underexposed? The techs dont seem to suggest it but the bird is course and crunchy.

    The water action, and the flared tail feathers really add a lot here! A bit of shoreline to help place the bird along the beach. I agree about the IQ, especially the front half of the subject, not sure what would have caused that except for some processing.

    Hi Joe .... super light and the flying water drops are so good .
    Color is nice as is the comp .

    IQ is not that great , IMHO , whatever you have done .... to contrast /sharpening / noise reduction is somehow overdone .

    Nice low angle and pose. The tail feathers are pretty neat on this one. The water drops are nice.
