That's a wonderful bird. I like the detail, also that the whole bird, including feet are visible.
Perhaps a lower angle would work here. That eye begs for a close up portrait.
nice find Ian, good exposure but can use more contrast, steep shooting angle and the cluttered BG doesn't help. bird is soft and doesn't show much fine details

They are fun birds. The pedicure is very nice, and of course that eye and beak. I do agree with the previous comments re: shooting angle, but I suspect you had no options on that. The bokeh on some of the background is a bit harsh.

I love the coy pose. And the pretty details on the yellow rocks go a long way to offsetting the steep shooting angle. As does the great look at the toes.
