Hi Bill. Great pose and really like the BG here. Wings down are not everyone's favourite but I like them! Large crop has resulted in a little softness, but other than that no nits from me. TFS

Nice head turn and wings.. BG nice is nice, crop maybe a bit large, would be fine a bit less.

Bill, as mentioned really like the pose and the head turn. The bkg environment is nice as well.
For me, the IQ suffered here and is especially evident on the head. But not far off by any stretch.

Looks great! The full wings-down is perfect. Good BG and I love the very subtle head-turn. I see what Brian mentions about IQ, but like him I too feel it is still OK.

Love the BG with just enough hint of environment and the pose/HA. TFS

Bill, often hard to overcome IQ issues due to crop but I actually think this helped notably!

love the head turn, the IQ has suffered quite a bit but as a harrier whisperer I know where too look. too bad you didn't have your longer lens, would have been a killer shot

Repost is definitely better but agree that large crop has affected IQ a bit.
Great wing position and BG and light.

Thank you all again. Arash, what longer lens? My 600 + 2X is still in my dreams. My 500PF + 1.4 is a little longer, but frankly I find that combo difficult for BIF, as it spends too much time searching, except against a clear sky. (500PF by itself is great, and good for static subjects with the TC.)

didn’t you have a 500 f/4 ? Agree PF +TC doesn’t fair well on the d500

You're right, Arash. I did have the 500f4. I had to trade it in when I bought the 500PF, since I couldn't afford both, and the 500PF is much better on my aging shoulders. The 500f4 + 1.4 TC is a great BIF combo; I wish I had kept it.
