I was busy photographing another Marsh Wren, using a bit of audio, when this one popped up even closer. It looks very impressed with my presence trudging through its territory, wouldn't you say! Anyhow, it just as soon disappeared into the reeds.
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop to help the comp, toned down the brightest whites.
I like the expressive look you captured from out of the abstract "greens", and whoosh, it was gone. They are so darn quick, so kudos for this one Dan, just love their babbling lyrical songs...
I don't mind the DOF, I think it gives good depth to the image. The eye is immediately drawn to the birds face...Lovely BG colours. Nice POV...No laying in the mud here then...
