The lighting is really nice, and you avoided shadows altogether - so that's good. However, the bird is a bit high to get direct eye contact, and the intersecting beak and wing aren't ideal. The bird also looks soft; I;m not sure if that results from a focusing issue or heavy crop.
EXP is good as it the image design. Agree with the sharpness issues mentioned above. In addition, the bird has already turned away from you. Lastly, in a perfect world the near wing would have been fully extended.
I will be at DeSoto three times before the end of OCT for 3-4 days each visit ...
