I have looked at this image on two separate occasions and I think it has great impact.. I like the treatment, I will have to read about this tritone malarkey you refer to!
Just looking at the top of the head, would it benefit from a slight lowering of the brightest highlights? Also looking at the eyelashes/eyelid maybe a little adjustment there to make the distinction between the two a little more apparent?? This treatment has me intrigued!
Thanks Jon for your kind comment ... much appreciated .
I hear what you are saying about the tonal options ..... for sure there are different ways to portray things .
I can try that what you suggested .... i am in training mode about this approach ( Duo/Tri/Quadtone ) . Still a lot to learn for me. And far away from being very good .
Interesting approach Andreas, and it works for me... as I have experienced from time to time such temperatures and lighting conditions. Without the elephants, that is
This does look 'harsh' but so is the location where you captured the frame. So to me a good portrayal of the place without actually showing the environment...just a white BG
As soon as I opened the thumbnail I immediately thought "...oh yes, must be Botswana, scorching temperatures, midday heat, love it"
Thanks Gabriela , glad you like it .
Yes it looks harsh and i want it to look harsh ... pushing things to limit and slightly above !!!
Still in testing mode ... and feedback is very important !!!
Lots of images in the pipe ... for experimenting . And this Duo/Tri/ Quadtone approach is very interesting
Cheers Andreas
So far the bear is the best for me ... i have created

Yes Andreas and it makes sense... I can almost feel the heat and dryness, just viewing your image. It's all about sending the right message...Like writing a story or a book, you want the audience to 'feel' how you felt at the time
Hi Andreas -- This works for me, as I also tend to experiment and look for feedbacks. What I liked here, is the harshness in the image , the roughness in texture on elephant and very contrasting tones, again sepia effect works well. Keep experimenting , some what unusual frame but its working.
