Hi folks ... just a beautiful male lion of the Etosha NP .
He was coming from somewhere in the bush and was patrolling his territory , ending up at a close by waterhole .... the story ended there for me as time was over . Gate times were calling me ....
Hope you like it .

Beautiful male lion Andreas, love the pose and framing here but the light just makes this image for me!
Well exposed and techs are spot on, ETTR always a good ideaI especially like the way you brought out the subject against the background, good thinking on aperture too.
The tree is a nice touch, gives context and balances the frame so well. So yes I like this, very much - thank you for sharing Boetie. A pity you could not spend more time with him - he is no longer a youngster, but absolutely gorgeous.
Hi Andreas, a gorgeous frame in some awesome light, it just makes the whole image. Having the head partially in shade works otherwise the HL's may have been a bit too much to retain? A lovely specimen with good detail, form and structure. Hope you didn't loose too much in the levelling rotation, but with the current PS that should be a thing of the past.
Might loose that red HL between the two tree trunks.
Hi Andreas -- I am loving this one a lot. Beautiful light and settings , lovely details , fine field work and PP as always. Such a fine image this is. This works for me in all departments .
I appreciate that some work will have gone into the production of this image. Tones and colours are delightful as of course is the subject - my favourite - nothing beets a "good lion"!. Having eulogised I do indeed like the image but my immediate reaction was that I was torn over the size of the subject. He is there in his surroundings - good but I feel this style of image needs to be taken with a wide angle lens. Much easier said than done. I really like the image I think it is a fine image but it leaves me wanting.
