Hi Gabriela, it's so sad that we have to go to these extremes and stress to a degree such an awesome subject, but if it means that they will have long, yet uneventful live and not live in fear, then so be it.
Yes I remember the posting, but now you have got far more depth, tone and detail from the file. Goes to show if you have the right techs in the first place, homework and skills you acquire means revisiting a file can prove dividends. Love the caked on mud and detail around the eye and mouth, really cool. Framing also works nicely. Lets hope images like this, is not the only way folk get to see this magnificent animal in the future.

Thank you Steve for kind comments, much appreciated.
Love revisiting old files, every now and then one finds something worth reprocessing. Especially images of this species, too precious
Warmest regards,

Very nice view of this rhino. The detail looks great. Really like the texture on this fellow. Sounds like a very special sighting.

Excellent portrait, hope you enjoyed processing the old files, especially when you get such a special sighting as this.
I only hope they're still around when I finally get to visit inland Africa
Thanks for sharing

Wow Gabriela , this is a stunner. I loved every bit of this image which is doing full justice to the animal it is showcasing. Fantastic details , colours look superb , and the subject is popping nicely against that backdrop.
Really appreciate the fact that you processed this and shared with us.
Loved it.

Many thanks John, Mike and Haseeb, your thoughts are much appreciated.
Mike, you might still see them for a while but in most private reserves in SA they've been dehorned to protect them from poachers. National Parks cannot afford to dehorn because the funds aren't there...Don't think anyone really cares in the Government either. Sadly, our rhino is being butchered at an alarming and escalating rate.

I like it very much, in fact I downloaded it and produced two duplicate layers, one multiply the other screen and by a little juggling with opacity of the two layers I think you can enhance the detail even further and minimise the desire for more DOF.
Super to see such a wonderful animal.
