Shot this male back at the end of May,just as they were starting their eclipse stage. This was one of the last males I saw in breeding plumage. Shot in a Nd slough.
Processed in Dpp 4 and Photoshop, neat image .I tried to get more detail in the head but this was the best I could get in those dark areas
Thanks for any comments or critiques.

The light is absolutely beautiful.
Love the color of the water and the little droplets near the face.
I like how the blues of the water transition to the yellows.
Great head position.
Only way to make this image better would be to have a perfect reflection but I would be thrilled to have this in my portfolio,

Very nice indeed, personally I would like a tad more space on the LHS. Colours look good. Assuming the raw file was fully exposed I think you could tease more detail out of those dark feathers using curves/luminosity masks and or blending techniques. Having said that ..very nice indeed.
Beautiful bird and light Kevin! I agree with all the comments above. The droplets and the iridescence really make this image for me. I would try to eke out more detail in the blacks though. Well done!
