I liked the BG colors and slowly positioned myself to compose a headshot of this puffin with quite a catch.

Wonderful. I love the carefully arranged catch, great colors, and particularly like the fine detail on the Puffin's face. Nicely done.

Oh, and btw I think I forgot to congratulate you on your Audubon Top 100 award. Congrats!

Nice shot Ann! Love the prey, the detail's on point, and the BG is just beautiful. Wish there was less room at the top, but this composition is growing on me. Great work!

You are the queen of tight puffin portraits!
IQ rocks and I love the BG.
For my taste, I would take a bit off the top,

Impressive color, detail, eye contact and background. I think the crop works quite well especially with the bluish gray background fading into the reddish background. The Reds on the bird mirror the upper background area creating a nice balance.

Detail looks great on this one. Love the gradient the background makes. Nice and sharp.

Your best Puffin photo yet for me... BG color is terrific and nice head on look.
Maybe a tad more sharpness on the eels..

    One of your best images...

I like the multi tone background, eyes and the details on the head.

Hey Ann, I missed this one, really good portrait. If I didn't know better I would think you had arranged the fish in the bill. Wonderful colors, detail and background. Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely no shortage of detail here! Great pose from a bird I never tire of seeing, the translucent eels they seem to get in Iceland are also much more photogenic than their British cousins!

Hope you're happy with this one Ann - I certainly would be

Really love this, so much detail and the way the fish are balanced in the beak is such a nice feature. Thanks for sharing!

Love this Puffin portrait, Ann. Always amazing how the catch is often perfectly positioned in the beak. Very nice graduated gray to orange'ish background.
