Liked the colors of the Avocet and background.Shot in Nd. Wish for more HA but it was the best I got. Appreciate comments and critiques.Processed in Dpp 4 and Photoshop.

The low angle and the open bill are nice. Like the way the background and water blend together. Yes more of a slight turn would have been nice but this is still nice.
The light, low angle, and composition are lovely, Kevin. Open beak is a also a great addition; I hardly care about the head angle against that touch of action. The exposure looks good given the high-contrast subject. Only wish is that the bird's side was as sharp as the face, but it's pretty close and is a generally minor nit-pick.
Perfect self-critique. And ditto all the positives above, especially the sweet light and the low perspective. John Mack might be right on the soft face ...

Wow, this is awesome! Great light, and such a wide yawn. I'm sure an additional round of sharpening for web presentation would work out rather well, just to get those fine details crisper.
