Taken in local slough in Nd, log was added.Was hoping for a duck photo but the tern landed and worked out just fine.processed in Dpp 4,Photoshop. Comments and critiques appreciated.

Oh boy, I'm a bit jealous of this one...we have this species up here (as a species of concern) but they are never so cooperative for me. I love pretty much everything about this. Do you mean that you placed the log there in the hopes a duck would use it, but that a Black Tern did instead?
Nice work capturing such a striking pose from this fellow Kevin. It would be interesting to see the effect of adding a touch of exposure to the head/face.
Thanks Dan and yes anchored the log so it would stay in place. Was thinking some ducks would use it not yet. Had some eared grebes very interested in its placement though.
Very nice as noted above. Good work on the dark tones. I would not mind seeing a crop from our right and above with some more room to our left. If you have it.
