    New to bird photography. Shot taken in North Jersey. He was hanging around for an hour. Looking for pointers on what i can do to make a better photo. Looking forward

    Welcome aboard and looks like you got the perfect rig for starting with bird photography. Careful... It can be very addicting... I love the perch and curious look of this beauty. You did well to catch this beauty in this light and it seems you got sharpness right where it needs to be (on the face and eye). Also love the BG and to my non professional eye you are off to a great start. Keep them coming. TFS

    Awesome shot and welcome to a very fun (and addictive) hobby! Like the pose and that perch is beautiful, is there any more of it at the bottom? I think shifting the crop down just a bit to reduce headroom and show more of that perch is about the only thing I’d suggest. Thanks for sharing!
