I was travelling along a dark mountain trail before sunrise, on my way to bird Mt. Polis (Cordillera mountains, North Luzon, Philippines) a couple of weeks ago, when I saw the full moon hovering just above the mountains to the west. I stopped my vehicle and waited a couple of minutes for the setting full moon to kiss a distant mountaintop. There was no time to set up a tripod, nor add a longer TC. So I just put my bean bag on top of the roof of my vehicle, then fired off some quick shots with my default birding combo.

The tiny "growths" at the sloping mountaintop are actually huge forest trees. :)

Elev. 1595 m ASL, MT. POLIS, BANAUE, IFUGAO, 40D + 500 f4 IS + Canon 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/8, ISO 250, 1/200 sec, bean bag, single capture, cropped and resized:

Great shooting from the hip Romy. The detail is amazing . . . and very interesting too. No nits from me but the subject is very central so it might be interesting to see it with a little canvas added to the left.

Gorgeous! That 500 makes a dandy telescope, and you know JUST how to use it!
