    Hi all,

A field sparrow (I think, correct me if I'm wrong!) taken locally. Slight crop and then cloned out an OOF branch on the right.

    Camera: Nikon D500
    Lens: 200-500mm
    Specs: 1/2000 f/5.6 ISO 640

Thanks for looking and commenting on prior posts!

Hmmm...not sure about this one. I do like the image design.
I find image a bit bright and feel you need more room on the RHS and bottom.
Good HA. I can't decide if the eye needs a bit more sharpening or if my own eyes are the problem..

Alex, unique comp. on this one, a little more on the right and bottom as Gail suggested but the sharpness looks fine to IMO.

I like it. The look back pose makes this one. Like the new green growth at the end of the perch. Great background.

I like the concept, i wish the bird was just an inch or 2 closer to the bud..
I also think you could lower exposure. Nice subject and head turn.

Interesting comp; always good to try something a bit different. Yes to reducing brightness on the sparrow just a bit (sharpness looks ok on my screen), and maybe some added space as suggested above. Nice to see the Field Sparrows back in their local fields.

Light seems a bit harsh but I love, love, love the overall composition as is. Maybe toning down the entire canvas would help. TFS

Hi Alex, I would wish for the sparrow to be closer to the prize: the unfolding leaves. The exposure is too bright and the browns on this field sparrow are too pinkish rather than rufous. With lowering exposure the grays will be more pronounced as well as highlighted areas more tame. TFS
