I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The background is the shaded dirt trail. The bird was standing in the middle of Marsh Rabbit Run trail near the beginning. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Hi David, I knew someone was going to say... More on top. I'm kind of biased to cropping portraits tight, not sure why. Maybe because it makes the bird smaller, and I want viewers looking at how beautiful and unique the bird is. And to get the composition I want it has to be a square crop, something about square crops that bugs me. Here's a version with more on top.Thank you for viewing and commenting, very much appreciated.

Joe, I get it for sure. And the details are amazing. I do like the overall canvas in the repost much better because of the strong diagonal the bill is creating. Just one man's opinion though. Keep those classics coming...
    Peace,
    David

Very nice. Good pose on the bird with nice detail. Like the darker background.

Hi Joe, I prefer the OP, as the repost BG is a tad dark. I really like the detail throughout and I always enjoy studying every bit from your tight crops that i enjoy, a pleasure to view!

Another great portrait of the Limpkin. He stands out well against the dark background. I also prefer the OP, which is a bit sharper. Wonderful detail.

Beautiful Jo, It draws my eye in I have to look and look there is so much to see! The whites look a little cleaner i.e. whiter than previous I think (?)

I prefer the repost's composition, but prefer the first's IQ. Very cool birds these guys! Excellent details.
