I will be away from the boards until mid-April. Wanted to leave you with something completely different for me.
I have been sitting on this image for a while. It is a great egret coming into its roost for the night.
It was almost completely dark (SS 0.3 sec ! ) I quite like the way it turned out but appreciate that this is not everyone's cup of tea!
This is pretty much straight out of the box but did a modest crop, levels, noise reduction, reduced magenta cast and bumped up the whites.
    See you later alligators!!

Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

MODS -feel free to move to OOTB forum but it appears that this forum will be eliminated so I did not want to put the image there.

I love the mystery! What a great OOTB image. Color, movement blur out of the darkness all works for me!

Interesting image. I wish some part of the bird to be little bit sharper...

    Black background works really well.

I love it... Coming out of the dark into the green rookery and the sweeping movement of the head and wings. Totally works for me. TFS

I like this ethereal image you created Gail. The dark BG and green and white swishes really add to the image.

    Gail:

I like the lighting and colors. It is a thought provoking abstract;I studied it for a while to get a better sense for what was going on.
I tend to personally like at least some part of the bird to be a bit sharper, as mentioned by Krishna.

    Safe travels

    Cheers
