Trying something different here. Not my best Red wing but trying to pull out some details in the blacks. Any comments appreciated.Processed with Dpp4,Photoshop.

I am not loving this one. The blacks are still quite blocked on the throat and tail. I think the sun was just a bit too high to get enough light on these areas.
You can try detail extractor and tonal contrast on the blacks but I think the blacks in this area are not recoverable. You will just end with a noisy icky area,

Looks fine to me. Perch is typical of a red wing blackbird. Great background.

Hello Kevin, I think you may have overexposed as your cattail is very bright, and the colored wing patch is washed. Further, i agree w Gail some of the blacks are blocked. Tail has no detail and Im not a fan of the stem intersecting at that color space.

Kevin, nice pose on they BB looks to be over exposed to compensate for the dark blacks and the red seems a washed out also.
    Nice HA and BG though.

I like the composition, HA and perch. I agree with the above comments.
