    Considering where these birds live, I really like the POV...A nice pose on both birds, both with a decent HA. I may take a little bit of the top. The BG shows the birds well. Good work getting this shot.

    Very nice indeed, are these grey herons or a different species - I guess so? I ask because I have never noticed such colourful plumage - the orange/brown looks beautiful, particularly good that you have both bird's eyes in focus.

    As usual, thankful for all comments, suggestions and discussion.
    Yes Jonathon, these are great blue herons but they are soon to fledge chicks. Very different plumage from adults. The adults retain the rust color in only small spots at base/front edge of wings/shoulders and the upper legs (I think). These two are at the stage where parents feed them but leave them on the nest alone most of the time so they can learn to use wings and complete plumage development.

    You have a nice pose on both birds. The hair do on the right one is pretty neat.
