Hi all. My latest favourite location is Port Gate, Brisbane. A great location (apart from the $10 return trip crossing the Gateway toll bridge ) looking out over the water with the sun behind me the whole time. I was able to get my best Silver gull closeups to date. This one made its way towards me as I knelt in the wet sand. I maintained focus hoping it would do something different and got this shot.

A terrific catch...can see the tonsils..
DOF, exposure, and BG are very nice.
I think it could use a bit of contrast for my preference as it looks a bit flat..
    Nice Portrait.

What a view. Only wish for a little more head turn for other eye. TFS

Hi Dan/David. Thank you for the feedback...much appreciated. Just checked my files and found another one with slightly more head turn (would have liked more but I needed to be positioned further to its right). Cheers.

Very nice indeed. Whites look excellent and I love the open bill and great look at the epiglottis and tongue!
I could see a version with a lot off the RHS to change to a vertical,

I li ke the shot Paul, the whites are very good, detail is top notch. Regarding the throat, I don't think the original is far out, for me the repost is OTT, maybe 1/2 to 2/3 the way to the original?

Hi Jonathan. I appreciate the kind comments, but I'm not sure I understand what you mean here.
