nice pose and details, like the soft light the BG and the mud are distracting, wish feet were visible

Not too far off eye level to be a problem for me - the long focal length has helped here. I don't mind the mud as its the natural environment but I would like it to have been framed a little looser

Great details but the crop is too tight. Although the mud don't give it a nice look to the image it is a natural setting.

A little more room around would be fine with me. Like the soft light and especially the fact that the head did not merge with the stuff at the top of the frame.

Thank you all for the comments.
This is uncropped image. I was not able to move away from the bird as I was shooting from car near the main pond and could not reposition with out blocking the road.
There were 2 places where mud spots were intersecting the bird. One near the Head and one at the end of Tail.
I cloned then out.
Thanks

Nice details and pose but for me this image does not work. It is too dull, the shooting angle is too steep and the foreground and the background are a bit ugly as they are just dark mud. Getting down to eye level on these shorebird shots makes all the difference as does being perfectly on the sun angle.

The soft light on the bird looks good, but the angle need to be lower to make this pop a bit more. The mud is a bit of a distraction as is. Shooting shorebird from a car is tough. Hopefully you'll get another crack a this bird!
