    Lovely portrait and very well composed, John

    Well exposed too and looking good at 1/250s. Would have liked a bit more DoF (nose looks a tad soft?) but I guess you could not push things any further, given the lighting conditions.

    BG could do with a bit of noise reduction, if you like (...can't believe I am saying this, I almost never do NR but in this case the noise is more visible at the top of the image, darker areas contain more noise than brighter areas).

    Sorry for nitpicking, I mean to be helpful. Really like the pose you captured here and especially those beautiful dark eyes of the doe and its alert pose. You must be really fond of the species, having spent so much time photographing them. I do appreciate your posts, thank you for sharing John

    Hi John, this works, but perhaps a little off at the foot?

    Both colour and detail appear better, but the nose isn't sharp, again either more DoF but you were struggling for light, or, as I have said before the camera is focusing back a bit???? The lighter streaking in the BKG is a bit unfortunate IMHO.
